Minh Ho brings a wealth of expertise with nearly 30 years as a designer and project manager for high-end companies in La Jolla, San Diego, Bellevue, WA, and Tampa Bay, FL. With a BA in Fine Arts from UC Santa Barbara and an MA in Interior Design from SDSU, Minh blends creativity and technical skill to create kitchen designs that are both beautiful and functional.

From concept to completion, he works closely with your general contractor to ensure the cabinets are installed exactly as planned.

Our History
The origin of the name comes from Minh’s mother who was an exceptional cook. She was a humble person so we will not call her a chef though she worked as the head cook in quite a few Vietnamese restaurants when the family first came to the United States. Her family name was Mai. So, in her honor and of the thousands of “out of this world” dishes she made the family Minh wanted the company’s name to be Mai Kitchen Works.
After the American Vietnam war ended food was scarce. Mrs. Mai had to use her wits to stretch food dollars and her creativity to put delicious food on the family table. The Vietnamese restaurants here in Southern California were delighted to have such a creative cook in their kitchens. People came from miles to eat her food. She made kitchens work and people happy with her food.
Minh’s passion of 25 years has been making people’s kitchen work with proper design on how people move and work in a kitchen. Big box stores and many “designers” simply line boxes up in a row without thinking of how you cook in a kitchen. Minh discusses with you what you like to cook. How you like to cook. Are you a solo cook or like the party in the kitchen while you cook? From Mrs. Mai’s passion of cooking to Minh’s passion of designing a functional kitchen, the benefit is handed to you in a kitchen you will enjoy cooking in for years to come.

Initial Consultation
Designing a kitchen layout is one of the most crucial steps in creating a space that is both functional and beautiful. It starts with a phone call and setting an appointment for the designer to come to find your needs and to look at the space.
Design Development
The kitchen is often the heart of the home, serving as a place for cooking, dining, and socializing. A well-thought-out kitchen layout can make a significant difference in how you use and enjoy this space.
3D Visualization
This kitchen remodeling session begins with the as‑built plan and transforms the space into a large open kitchen for the client. We will review the as-built overlay in 2D and 3D and use Chief Architect's design tools for the new kitchen.
